The Lane
The Lane is a proposed brand extension for Speedo USA. This hotel is
for aspiring elite level swimmers, college swimmers, former swimmers,
coaches, and all-around swimming enthusiasts that want to have a retreat
environment to enjoy the craft of swimming. A hotel that will be able to
provide training and experiences for many different age groups and skill
levels, The Lane fosters a new level of swimming and competitive ideals
for traditional swimmers and non-swimmers alike.
THE LANE
Beautifully designed along the rugged La Jolla coastline in San Diego, CA, The Lane is the first of its kind as a Speedo brand hotel. With 250 luxury rooms, a full workout facility, two Olympic size swimming pools, and the La Jolla beachfront just steps away, this is any swimmer or water enthusiast’s home away from home.The outside of The Lane hotel reveals a modern and clean architectural approach to symbolize the fundamentals of swimming–a fresh start to each new race and opportunity for a clean slate with each practice. The hotel lobby of The Lane continues the modern approach of the hotel,
while showing a simple elegance in its design. With rectangular shapes on the lobby picture and lane-like lines on the pillows, the color palette and swimming features of an Olympic sized pool are referenced in this image. Meanwhile, the features of the room hallways carry on the rectangular and linear elements of the pool, with the look and feel directly relating back to the pool as well.

Throughout the entirety of The Lane App, swimming is celebrated. From the shapes of the modular rectangle, to the placement and direction of The Lane typography, to the color palette as a whole, The Lane exudes swimming. Featuring options to explore activities at the hotel such as booking a lane through The Deck or signing up for swim
clinic with Olympians, The Lane also allows for guests to reserve rooms in La Jolla and check in early. Each aspect of design in this app was meticulously created to mimic that of the swimming pool, and the app carries invites a more modern and fresh approach to the Speedo brand experience as well.

From booking your own lane to swimming with a training partner, enjoy lap swimming at The Lane’s beautiful San Diego outdoor Olympic sized pool! The Deck features poolside lounge areas for relaxation and ten 50 meter swim lanes, allowing for all guests to experience working out at an elite level. Meanwhile, Featured at The Lane biweekly, Olympian Swim Clinics provide a chance for guests and swimmers to interact with
Olympic swimmers. From technique work, competitive visualization training, to meet & greets, the Olympain Swim Clinics provide a rare chance to interact and learn from the world’s best!
