The &nbsp; process book consists of over 300 pages of research, interviews, deliverables, and focus groups to organize a well developed thesis that graphic designers have the ability to bridge the gap in the educational domain and it is within their ability to do so effectively. In the child portal of the app for instance, the ability for a child Doyen user to engage and choose fonts such as Helvetica, Verdana, and GEO created a visual learning tool that specifically helped that child engage with the app and increase positive memory and cognitive function. Moreover, color psychology in particular plays a vital role in illustrating what may be beneficial for children with learning differences to see within specific educational designs such as the Doyen App. Children with learning differences often get overwhelmed and cognitively overstimulated by an&nbsp; abundance of information on a page, in particular those with ADHD. This can create a negative response to the content to be learned, thus, inhibiting a successful learning environment. “Competing forms of media” bombard the ADHD viewer, and this is one of the “many places where education is lacking” (Bozhen, 2015). Doyen will serve as the central domain for bringing together helpful information onlearning differences, while also enabling parents to connect and schedule appointments for their children with Doyen experts on a daily basis. Doyen App Parent Portal (Click Here) The Doyen parent portal of the Doyen App is a multi-functional portal for parents. Research based and intended to be instructional and informational for parents that are not aware of all of the ramifications of specific learning differences–or parents that are aware of their child’s learning difference and simply want to keep up to date on the latest research by experts in the field–Doyen is for all parents. The parent portal has an about section for the learning differences of ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia, and a scheduling section to connect daily with experts. For the purposes of this thesis, ADHD is the featured section that was researched, but Doyen has the&nbsp;ability to expand into other realms of learning differences. Parents should not have to wait weeks on end to receive expert information or advice as to how to help their child on a daily basis. From doctors and psychologists to organizational coaches and graphic designers, each Doyen plays a role in helping parents give their child the tools to succeed by learning more about their Portal (Click Here) Children with learning differences often get overwhelmed and cognitively overstimulated by an abundance of information on a page, in particular those with ADHD. This can create a negative response to the content to be learned, thus, inhibiting a successful learning environment. The Doyen child portal for ages 8-10 has four icons to choose from–font, personalization, game, and home–in order to ensure children on the app are not overwhelmed, but investigating one aspect of the app at a time.&nbsp; The child portal for ages 5-7 is further simplified with just a home, personalization, and game icon to reiterate the importance of using doyen to form good daily learning habits and symbol recognition skills. The games within Doyen were created by me and inspired by listening exercises that help children with ADHD develop better methods of focusing on a given subject. <img width="2846" height="1598" in Action clip features the primary focus group testing the efficiency and legitimacy of the Doyen app. The trial run of the final Doyen app features the child portal of Doyen in this overview, and it reveals some interesting insights into graphic design symbol recognition and the importance of parent collaboration in the app. Within this clip, Jayden and Ryan are featured using the child portal of Doyen, as Jayden investigates the sections for ages 8-10 and 5-7, and Ryan guides him along the way.&nbsp; Interestingly enough, while the game portion of the app is specified by age, both sections were beneficial and interesting to Jayden–with the 8-10 directions/symbol identification challenge being more challenging. THE LANE Beautifully designed along the rugged La Jolla coastline in San Diego, CA, The Lane is the first of its kind as a Speedo brand hotel. With 250 luxury rooms, a full workout facility, two Olympic size swimming pools, and the La Jolla beachfront just steps away, this is any swimmer or water enthusiast’s home away from home.The outside of The Lane hotel reveals a modern and clean architectural approach to symbolize the fundamentals of swimming–a fresh start to each new race and opportunity for a clean slate with each practice.&nbsp;The hotel lobby of The Lane continues the modern approach of the hotel, while showing a simple elegance in its design. With rectangular shapes on the lobby picture and lane-like lines on the pillows, the color palette and swimming features of an Olympic sized pool are referenced in this image. Embrace highlights the ups and downs of the bridal journey with alluring and engaging forms throughout the new magazine. It advocates for continual equal representation of women in sports, specifically through recruiting “Dads” to strengthen female sports presence and legitimacy. Title IX, “Gives women athletes the right to equal opportunity in sports in educational institutions that receive federal funds, from elementary schools to colleges and universities” (Women’s Sports Foundation, 2021). The campaign will be featured during sports games and afterwards for take home merchandise.&nbsp; The Components Field Graphics Electronic Messaging (Inside/Outside Sports Venues) Take-Home Merchandise (T-shirt’s/Collector’s Cards) Temporary Mechandise (Cups) Title IX Poster Venue Entrance Created to inspire Dads, Uncles, Father Figures, etc., that have daughters, it is housed within indoor and outdoor sports venues such as Staples Center and Golden One Center. Below, it is shown how graphics in the Dads for Daughters campaign are displayed digitally on the outside of sports venues when crowds enter for games. According to the NSCA, “Athleticism is the ability to repeatedly perform a range of movements with precision and confidence in a variety of environments, which require competent levels of motor skills, strength, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and endurance.” Athleticism is both a past and current issue, with personal body image being a central focus in how athletes and individuals see themselves today.&nbsp; &nbsp; Poster Series&nbsp; The ultimate goal and focus of this typographic narrative installation is to bring awareness to the concept of athleticism, and how it has directly impacted the daily lives and psychological shaping of body image in both athletes and individuals of all skill levels. Athletes are often hyper-focused on not only their sport, but how their body is performing and viewed–whether in a game or outside of a compition. Billboard Application The billboard application of the typographic narrative installation series highlights the fact that with the right mindset and abilities to set aside negative thinking, athletes–and individuals in general–have the ability to “neutralize” the limitations that are set in the mind. Created with an audience in mind of &nbsp; &nbsp; recovering child addicts and their families in the Northern Californian region, &nbsp; &nbsp; this organization will help set children up on a road to recovery through abstract &nbsp; &nbsp; art methods and therapy. As addiction is a lifelong struggle. More kids relapse &nbsp; &nbsp; than adults because they aren’t given the proper tools to deal firsthand with their &nbsp; &nbsp; struggles. Spatial Concept N.O.B.A. explores creative solutions that include giant canvases for individuals to paint on, stations for group painting that will have multiple artists’ imprints on them, and a gratitude wall in which kids and teenagers will be able to write in anonymous, open journals along the gratitude wall. Within the journals, there will be a sense of community for the individuals coming into the &nbsp; program, as they will be able to see all of the encouraging things written, and connect with the good minimalistic type elements for the brand. Uppercase letterforms were used for the primary logo of the organization, with strong, bold characteristics. The playfulness of N.O.B.A. communicates openness and a less intimidating approach to an otherwise serious subject–that of overcoming child/teen addiction. Merchandise and the poster series displayed in the public space&nbsp;illustrate a vulnerable quality that is intended to allow for anyone to connect with N.O.B.A. on a visual level, promoting organization awareness and creating a space to destigmatize addiction in the process. This concept came about through a rebranding conceptual project at the ArtCenter College of Design. Rose Bowl Stadium The Tournament of Roses Association hosts the Rose Bowl every New Years Day, and it reaches millions of viewers around the globe. It is a staple of the Pasadena community that has been a part of the city’s attractions since its beginning on January 1, 1890. As a city-wide introduction to the proposed Rose Games, the Rose Games float will be featured in a manner similar to that of the Rose Games obstacle course.&nbsp; Created using literal children’s toys, the float will be incredibly large in real life with spinning contraptions and giant bouncy balls. The website features a home, about, events, schedule, and ticketing information. This allows for any questions about the schedule of the Rose Games to be&nbsp;answered prior to the event. Meanwhile, the app features the same information on a mobile format, easy to use from any location. Scheduling a day or sport that one’s child would like to participate in the Rose Games on a given day is easily accessible, and pricing covers merchandise and ticketing. Rose Games Opening Ceremony Obstacle Course Proposed initially to begin in July of 2020, The Tournament of Roses Association will launch the Rose Games at the Rose Bowl Stadium and the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.
